Welcome to the new millenium!

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Soooo... I have finally joined the new millenium! This past weekend Tyson & I finally bought a camera that works AND takes VIDEO! After the whole married on myspace deal, we realized we are the only people left who do not have some way of recording themselves for various internet video applications. So we took care of the problem. Got a very nice Lumix by Panasonic. Takes as much video as your memory card can handle. Woo hoo! Look forward to videos of our fish in the near future (they are much more interesting than we are...LOL)

Yesterday, I was told I have to sign up for Skype. My boss / father / gadget guy is going on a trip to Europe, and is tired of the rdiculous cell phone bills this sort of trip generates. So now I am on skype! morgan.lund add me if you want to chat for FREEEEEEE! I even got a nifty new headset with microphone, so it will actually work! I still dont have a web cam...but hey! I am catching up. I will get there. On second thought...maybe I dont need one. Since most of the time I am sitting here in my jammies with no make up & a floppy pony tail. no one needs to see that....

So, we took a bunch of pics & random videos with our cool new toy over the weekend...they are not all that interesting or anything, but whatever....something to waste time with. Better stuff to follow...I promise!

I'm kind of a big deal...and I'm chopping garlic for TOASTS! (we had company...otherwise it's no fat, no salt, no alcohol, no fun! Still lots of garlic though....gotta have SOMEthing!)

The garlic I chopped :)

The evil dessert Spencer brought us

Tyson is ready for dinner!

And finally...the new, bigger, better fish tank....and LOTS of little guppies!

Married on Myspace

Monday, May 4, 2009

Well, since Tyson & I re-connected via myspace just over 4 years ago, we thought it fitting to apply for the married on myspace competition. We could win a free wedding...of course we dont get to pick anything for said wedding, but it could be fun right?

Anyway, this is the last week of voting, and then the winner is announced on May 15th. Go check it out!

Hawaii pics! (finally!)

Thursday, April 9, 2009

I know everyone has been awaiting pics form this last Hawaii trip, specifically the engagement pics. Below are some of Lance & Johanna's wedding in Maui, and then the big even below that. (Chronological, yo.)
Lance & Tyson before the wedding

Me fixing Lance's jacket

Sneaky Lance & Tyson grabbing a quick pre-wedding shot. We thought they were getting the car...and we waited...and waited....and THAT is what they were doing. hahaha!

Me & Tyson at Lance & Johanna's wedding :)

A little post wedding smoochie

We went to Ruth's Chris for dinner after the wedding. Soooo good. Don't go there unless you can always go there....you will never look at steak the same! The ONLY time I have ever had a blue steak served HOT! How do they do that??

Waiting for brunch the next day...of course to pass the time we took pictures of our feet...

After brunch - posing for a few pics....

I said yes!!

And a kiss to seal the deal!

Aloha!

Baby guppies!

Monday, April 6, 2009

So Jerry (our yellow guppie) tortured Kramer (the orange one) to death....literally. Poor guy didn't stand a chance. Jerry is such a jerk.

So after flushing Kramer, the tank just didn't seem as much fun anymore...so we picked up a couple girl guppies. Susan & Elaine. We think Elaine must be pretty young, because she is so far getting away unscathed...so-to-speak.

However, Susan is a big fishie ho, and got herself knocked up right away. Last night while we were sleeping, she had her babies. Unfortunately, we didn't anticipate this soon enough, and woke up to babies in the main tank. The bummer part...we only managed to save 3 babies from becoming breakfast....seems their brothers & sisters were quite the feast last night. George looks like he just finished thanksgiving dinner, and is thoroughly uninterested in his regular food. Susan is doing fine, but she is still fat, and we are not completely sure she is done having babies....we are keeping an eye on her...just in case.

We ordered a bigger tank last week, and it's taking forever! Hopefully it's done soon so we can move everyone into a bigger home.

We got engaged in Maui!

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

Well, we went to Hawaii for Tyson's best friend's wedding. It was in Maui, and it was lovely! It was just the 4 of us, at sunset on a tiny little beach near Wailea. So romantic! After the sunset ceremony, we went to Ruth's Chris Steak house for dinner. YUM!

The next day, Tyson & I were
going back to Oahu to see his family, and visit some of our favorite beaches there. In the morning, after brunch, we had a little time, so we went down to the beach to splash around some. Well, Lance was filming me, and so I was distracted by the camera, and I didn't even notice that Tyson was kneeling in front of me! He asked me to marry him, and presented me with the most perfect ring I have ever seen! Of course I said yes!

We didn't take many photos this trip, but there will eventually be video and a few shots of the proposal (when ever Lance gets them edited). In the mean time, below is a picture of the ring :)And the view from our hotel room in Honolulu (traditional feet pic)

Maybe I do have something political to say

Friday, October 31, 2008

I usually keep most of my politics to myself...usually...sometimes I will comment on other people's opinions, but I'm not usually one to bring it up. I do have an opinion, and a pretty strong one at that....but I don't start the fire...usually.

However, in this election, I am afraid we are looking at 2 candidates that are after generally the same thing...MORE GOVERNMENT. So, after careful consideration all during the campaign process (and my guy dropping out of the race - Ron Paul was the ONLY hope for America) I have come to the decision that I am not voting for either of the main stream candidates.

Don't get me wrong, I am voting, mister! I will be at the polls with my fellow citizens, and I will be placing my vote. I will, however, be voting for a 3rd party candidate.

I thought it was funny earlier this week when I recieved a phone call from a political pollster...you know those calls where they call you up at dinner time & ask a billion questions about who you are voting for & why....

So, this lady on the phone begins asking me questions about what props I am voting for, and who I want vote for for some local stuff, and then she asked about the presidential election:

Lady: are you going to vote for McCain or Obama?
Me: neither
Lady: so you are undecided?
Me: no, I have decided, I am not voting for either mainstream candidate, I am voting 3rd party in this election.
Lady: so you are not going to vote for president?
Me: no, I AM going to vote, I am voting 3rd party because I refuse to accept that we have to choose between 2 bad choices. I know who I am voting for. Are you interested in who that is?
Lady: I will put you down as undecided. Thanks for your time. *click*

How did she get undecided from what I said? Or is the system so full of its self that there is simply no room for candidates who dont fit into one of their 2 categories? Last I checked..in CA there are 5 choices for President...how is me voting for one of the other 3 mean I am undecided?

THAT, my friends, is why we will NEVER get a decent Presidential candidate in this counrty. I was a little upset during the primaries when it came out that several states were not counting Ron Paul votes, but I didnt realize just HOW fixed this whole thing is until that call. Amazing. No wonder people don't vote. What is there really to vote ON? It's already decided for us.

I remember during the bail-out crisis...when Barbara Boxer (california senator) said ON THE NEWS that she had more calls, letters, and emails from constituents in her state than she had ever had on any issue ever before, but that she disagreed with what her Californians wanted, so she was going to vote FOR the bail out. Seriously?! She doesn't care what we want??? I thought our Senators represented US? I hope she finds herself unemployed soon...that is wrong on so many levels.

Still, if you don't vote, you can't complain, so I will place my vote on Nov. 4th with my fellow Californian's. I know that regardless of who I vote for, my state will be supporting Obama, but I think it's important that I vote for who I think is the BEST option, and not just what "they" want me to pick from....whoever "they" are.

Not very Halloweeny, this post, but definitely scary!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
