....since I updated this thing. Maybe I am not a very good blogger....sigh.

Lucky 13 in SF December 2009

Well let's see.
October: fairly uneventful I think. We didn't do much for Halloween since Tyson had the flu. We stayed in & fell asleep on the sofa watching Criminal Minds reruns. I made a very delicious coconut pumpkin bisque and garlic toasts. Not bad.

November: I turned 32 in November....I don't want to talk about it.

Us at the top of a very high hill - we walked up it. - Birthday weekend

Thanksgiving was really fun! We had 14 people in our tiny condo! YES FOURTEEN! Tyson's big sister & his 2 little sisters came down for the occaision. Spencer (who was in Seattle for the holiday) graciously offerd up his place for them to stay & use the kitchen. We could NOT have done it without him. THANK YOU SPENCER! Speaking of Thanksgiving, I think we have it mastered now. Tyson made the best turkey I have ever had....ever. Jonathan made 2 versions of his stuffing souffle' AMAZING! Shaun brought mashed potatoes and cheezey potatoes that were sinful. 3 cheeses...gruyere, blue cheese & havarti...um yeah. We made a LOT of gravy by simmering a dozen 'turkey butts' for about 3 hours the night before. First year ever to have gravy left over! Cindy made about 6 different cranberry varieties. All good. And of course yampples. Can't have Thanksgiving without yampples. This was followed by 4 different amazing desserts courtesy of Sue May, Jessica & Rebecca. WOW!

A perfect turkey

cheesey potatoes - YES!

2 kinds of stuffing souffle' - amazing!

The feast!

Dessert - YUM!

December: We traveled up to SF a lot in November & December (my b-day, band trip & Tyson's work Christmas party.) we have eaten a lot of oysters these past months....And some other very good things. Tyson found a very cool vintage jacket in a thrift store that Jonathan is making even cooler. I can't wait to see it. photos to follow.
We got our tree up. It's a much smaller one this year since I have my alley chair in the living room, and there is just less room now. I have a lot of ornaments left over, and the tree didn't fit in the stand....I had to rig a reducer from a PVC drain pipe part. Works pretty well with a couple of shims :-)

Santa Con SF 2009 - I am so doing this next year!!

Wedding stuff is in the works. Picked up the invitations yesterday. They are SO AMAZING! I will take a picture of one when everything is all pulled together. Have to order my custom stamps and put it all together. Mom is done hand addressing all the envelopes. That lady is the best!

Well, that's all I can think of. Merry Christmas everyone!

The shower is DONE!!!

Monday, September 14, 2009

I don't think I have been this excited about a shower since.....ever! It looks so good! Limber (our building maintenance guy) is my new hero!

Check out the very cool hand shower on the adjustable bar - so European!

And our awesome shampoo shelf! No more stupid, rusty, chrome, shelfy thing in the corner! woo hoo!

He also patched the walls in the bathroom - including the little patch behind the toilet that we couldn't reach but that we knew was wide open back there! He also put the trim around the window & the bathroom door that has been missing since we tore our place apart 2.5 years ago. It's finally coming together.

Oh! And we got a real bed frame from Ikea. it's only 6" high, but what a difference! AND so much storage under there! Just need a low something under the window for the rest, and some sliding doors & voila'! We will be DONE with this place! woo hoo!

miscellaneous update

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

There is not a whole lot to tell at the moment except that I am in desperate need of a shower...

Since the last post, we have torn up our bathroom (OK not us exactly, but our shower re-tiler guys...) We had a leaky valve in the shower, which we had to replace, so as long as we had to do that, we decided to use up the rest of the marble that was left from the floors to re-do the shower. It's still in progress, but it looks amazing! I cannot wait to wash my hair in there!

In other news, I hired a wedding planner in Hawaii. She has been great to work with so far, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with for the beach ceremony. Also, I discovered that most airlines & hotel chains offer discounts to wedding guests (yay!!) so stay tuned for more info on that.

Jonathan came to LA for a visit, and I think we are zeroing in on the wedding dress design. I am meeting him in Livermore again next month to look at a few more dresses (and taste a few more wines...) So that should be fun fun fun!

I have an appointment on Weds to pick out invitations, and so things are rolling right along....

Dresses, Wine and Frankenfeesh!

Tuesday, August 4, 2009

So this past weekend Tyson had to go up to San Mateo for band stuff (Album number 3 is ALMOST ready to go! woo hoo!) So I decided to tag along for the ride.

I met Avideh for breakfast and then we headed out to Livermore to try on dresses with Jonathan (Frankenfeeeeeesh!) We found some great ones. I went out there to try on a dress I have been drooling over for months now, and the dress shop had that designer, but not THE dress. Oh well. We tried out several different styles & dresses from a number of designers. Check out the photos below (It was freaking HOT in Livermore, so please disregard the messy pony tail & general grossness that was me)

It was so great to have Jonathan and Avideh there! Jonathan knew exactly what was right and what was wrong with each dress! I can't wait to see what he comes up with!

After the dresses, we headed over to Cedar Mountain for a little wine tasting. They charge for tasting now, but I suppose that is because they were really busy...they must have been 'discovered' because it was just not the same. Wine was as good as ever though.

After Cedar Mountain, we went over to Concannon to taste & see the set up for Jonathan's play. What a fantastic setting for a play!

All in all, it was a wonderful day, and I am SO glad I finally was able to catch up with BOTH Jonathan and Avideh!

another quilt!

I am thinking that by now Limore must have recieved the baby package, so it's probably safe to post pics of the baby quilt for sweet little Gabriella (who I cannot wait to meet!!)

I am taking a quilting break for a little while, but will probably start up again as soon as the weather cools some....and my fingers heal up. phew! I bought fabric for 2 more quilts...I am going to get out ahead of future babies, and have them ready to go!

Save the Date!

My awesome friend / photographer / artist / bridesmaid JD took our engagement photos a few weeks ago, and then designed some save the dates for us to send out to our friends & family for our HAWAII WEDDING in May! They are so cute! And she somehow made us look like models. She is a rockstar, and I am SO blessed to have her!

We took a whole bunch of other pictures that day too which turned out AMAZING! (I am waiting for her to put her copyright / signature on them & then I will post!)

We are getting excited! I booked a wedding photographer this week, who I cant wait to work with! I feel like I have made progress, I have about 97% of all the save the dates sent out, thanks to Mom & Brooke for stuffing 98 envelopes!! Still waiting for a few straggling mailing addresses, and am getting my list solidified as they dribble in...

Wow! 2 blog posts in one week! This is definitely a record for me :)

So I just mailed off my baby gift for Lance & Johanna's new baby boy Brayden Cash Titus (so cute!). I thought I would post a few pics of the finished product. I am almost done with one for MY BFF Limore. Her baby finally arrived, and it's a girl! So I had to make a few adjustments to her quilt to make it less gender neutral :) Stay tuned for pics of that one as soon as it's done. And then I think my sewing fingers will need a break! You should see the caluses!
